Familiar worked closely with Strong Economy for All, a New York-based coalition of labor unions and social justice organizations to develop a branded print and interactive campaign for 99% New York.
99% New York is a campaign to stop the cessation of the New York State Millionaire’s tax in the face of a massive defecit and overwhelming budget cuts to necessary social programs. Familiar developed a logo, branding, print pieces, video bumpers, and a website for the campaign.
The 99% New York website allows visitors to submit budget cuts that affect them individually. The cuts are presented both by the location affected and the sector of funding affected by the cut. Site tools allow users to email local legislators and the governor of New York. Twitter and Facebook are both integrated with the site, encouraging users to share content with their friends and colleagues.
The customized Content Management System (CMS) allows many different members of the Strong For All coalition to use the site as a clearinghouse for news, reports and opinion about their specific areas of concern, and streamlines moderation of both user-submitted cuts/testimonials as well as content from coalition partners.
